YOU DO NOT NEED A JOB TO MAKE MONEY: 10 WAYS YOU CAN MAKE MONEY WITHOUT A JOB.

YOU DO NOT NEED A JOB TO MAKE MONEY: 10 WAYS YOU CAN MAKE MONEY WITHOUT A JOB.

When you do not have a job for whatever reason or you don’t want one because when you are employed there is a lot of commitment needed and bulky rules and regulations to be followed, and you want to be free, but since you will still need to make some money, the good thing is that while sited at your desk, at home or wherever there are a number of ways you can do that without a job and still bring in some extra cash.

Some of these ways are web-based, others are merely odd jobs or out-of-the-box strategies, but either way, the internet is your friend. Use it to market yourself and whatever skill or service you would like to use to generate income. You can’t afford to be shy about self-promotion, particularly in the freelance market where income disparities are a reality.

If you’re in a situation where you’re looking to make money without a job, and you’re willing to hustle a little more around the edges to compensate for income stability, then the following 10 ideas might be something to consider.

  1. Self-employment.

On top of the list is self- employment which is the state of working for oneself rather than under an employer. Self-employed people generally find their own work rather than being provided with work by an employer, earning income from a profession, a trade or a business that they operate. This involves starting a business and managing it by yourself. In this case, you can start a small business in the area you are interested in and that which will not require big capital to start and also that which when it’s operational, you will not take too long to see the returns.

You can try opening a small general shop, start a shoe selling business, and do hawking among others. What is important is that before you invest your money into anything g you need to do your own research on the same.

  1. Invest in real estate.

I didn’t want to include this one because, to be honest, most of us looking to make money with no job probably don’t have the money to buy properties as an investment.

But if it’s true indeed you don’t have the money but you are interested, nowadays there are ways you can get your hands on cash- from mortgaging your properties (not that I recommend it!) and getting a bank loan to investing in a certain property or in crowdfunded real estate companies and so on.

That said, if you have the money or can somehow get a loan, investing in real estate is a great option.

The two most basic and popular forms are:

  • Investing in rental income properties (apartments, condos, duplexes, single-family homes, and others.)
  • Flipping houses: Basically buying houses in bad shape, fixing them up and selling for a profit.

So, even though investing in real estate is a great way to make money without a job, there is a lot of risks involved. And technically you are working a job. Sure, you may not be clocking in and out in some company or office, but you still have to hustle.

To make money in any way, you still have to put in some sort of effort and time into it. The problem is that this isn’t a freeway. You risk losing a lot of money. So please, if you are considering real estate investment as a strategy to earn a living, take your time to learn about the process and what’s involved in investing in real estate. But, if you can’t afford to lose the money that you would use to buy the property then you don’t have to do it.

  1. Sell Or Rent out your personal belonging or property.

If you don’t have a job and need money—who doesn’t?—the first thing you can do is inspect your house. Which item don’t you need any more?

We all have old clothes that we haven’t worn for years, books we never opened or already read, pieces of furniture that have been unused for decades, and so on. Not to mention, everybody owns new pairs of shoes, accessories, car items and more. You can sell them and they can be of much help at that time.

If you are lucky enough to own a holiday house, a caravan, or even a boat, start renting them out. There are always people willing to pay for some days of relaxation or adventure. If you plan on going on holiday, take advantage of this and rent out your own room or house.

Again if in your house you still have an unused room, you can rent it out and at the end of the month, you can still be getting some money.

  1. Starting a blog.

Starting a blog is another way to make money but it calls for real dedication and might take some time before it could pay off.

There are a number of steps to be followed before one could boastfully say, ‘I have a blog or my blog.’ These include; purchasing a domain name, buying a hosting package (we recommend you use Kenya web experts because they offer affordable prices and also after-sale client support.), and installing WordPress- download themes, add some plugins which suit you and boom, you are right to go. But still, you can re-edit and customize it to however you want it to look.

We recommend you start by building up high-quality content. Then you can look into advertising platforms like Google AdSense, a tool that automatically serves your readers display ads. You’ll get paid when a reader interacts with the ad. See how that goes, then you can consider jumping into affiliate marketing.

For those of you who don’t know, blogging or to blog means to add new material to or to regularly update a website (blog) – and in this case your blog. This involves posting articles (in whatever niche you are passionate about), recipes, reviews, or commentary.

Blogging is a great investment in terms of time and money because an article you wrote for 2-4 hours will be up and available for viewing for as long as your site lives.

Furthermore, it requires essentially no money to keep going but has the potential to make you plenty of money.

We will be writing more about blogging herein, so keep coming back.

  1. Be an affiliate marketer.

If you’re not familiar with affiliate marketing, it means that you will be advertising other people’s products in the return for a commission on the sales. This is essentially a sales job that can be done by the introverted and the extroverted alike since it doesn’t require that you actually interface with people on a personal basis. You can do this on your blog(s), through emails or even in the social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, twitter etc.

Affiliate marketing is usually a way that people prefer to advertise their product because it feels more organic, and people are more likely to purchase something that they don’t feel has been explicitly advertised to them.

Affiliate marketing is usually tied to blogging, as a blog is an ideal place to do something like write a review of a product and provide a link to the product at the end.

In Kenya, you can try Jumia, Kilimall and even the world well- known amazon. What you are just required to is to create an account and when you are approved, you will be given a link known as the affiliate link that you will be using and when clicked it will be taking people to the website and when they buy something, you get a commission- it’s that simple.

  1. Freelance writing

If you have solid writing skills, you can join platforms like Upwork, Freelancer, Fiverr, iWriter and so on. These places are visited by thousands of writers worldwide.

And here is the reason why—writers can choose the projects they love the most, work on appealing texts, and get a fair amount of money, all while working at your own pace. However, you must keep in mind that every task has a deadline that must be respected, so you’ll need to practice self-discipline to make sure you get everything turned in on time.

  1. Start a YouTube channel.

A YouTube channel works in the same way as a blog. You just need to create a YouTube channel and start uploading videos on whatever niche you have interest in and after your channel gets 1000 subscribers and your videos attain a watch time of 4000 hours, you can then monetize with Google AdSense and start serving ads. This is another way to make money without working for anybody or in any company.

  1. Self Publish a book.

Self-publishing is the publication of media by its author without the involvement of an established publisher. In common parlance, the term usually refers to physical written media, such as books and magazines, or digital media, such as e-books and websites.

For example, if you self-publish on Amazon or another self-publishing platform, there are standardized contracts that pay out depending on how many people download the E-book or read it through Amazon’s Ebook-lending program like Kindle. That way, you can cut out the middlemen of the publishing industry and make a higher percentage of profit from your own book.

  1. Use your creative skills.

Almost everyone has a weird hobby or a skill they acquired for fun. Maybe you like to knit, make homemade cosmetics, detergents and/or create jewellery. Whatever your talent is, you can make money from it from selling the self-made things.

  1. Betting.

If you are a fan and you believe you have the luck, you can try betting. There are a number of betting sites you can try your hand and luck into. In this, you only need to create an account with the betting site and deposit the amount you would what to bet with, do your own analysis of the games and when convinced that they will win, place a bet. However, there is no guarantee that they will win. And although most people have become millionaires through betting, we do not recommend it.

Final say:

Ways to make many are not only limited to these- thee are a lot more. What you need to do is, do your own research- the good thing is that just because you do not have a job, you can still make money.
